Another of our mini-fun times from the weekend before last, this is the
Lee and Joe Jamail Skatepark
|
Opened in June 2008 and is around 40,000 sq. ft. and it's free! Helmets are required but not padding...are they crazy or what? Pad me up!!! Well, not to worry as this chick won't be skateboarding :). Max was more interested in what was there nearby to pee on :) |
|
Oh, I sooo could have done that! (Not!) |
|
Yep, it's just outside of downtown. It's very clean and well maintained. |
|
Across the street and down some stairs is the Buffalo Bayou Walk - North Trail, also where you can launch a canoe (but I'd be scared of that nasty water and tipping over!) |
|
I wished I had a video of this little pup who came running - almost flying over to see Max like Max was a long lost friend! |
|
What's next Ma...what's next?! |
|
Come on pokey Brother...let's get this party started already!!!
(Ok, so you can't tell from the photos but it was like a tra-zillion degrees outside so we had to take hydration breaks in the car with the a/c running so Max wouldn't overheat!)
With that we'll call it and end for today's mini-adventure in the life of Max :) ... until next time...
Have a beautiful Friday!!! Whoo Hoo!! It's the WEEKEND at last!
|
It's also time for K9 Kamp put on by the awesome
Kol's Notes and
Peggy's Pet Place so since the above pix were from the weekend before last, Ma didn't wanna cheat so we got up early and walked about the subdivision but without the camera...smart Ma! We don't think we'll do that again as some pups are roaming without leashes and seem a bit aggressive...well, watching Dad all weekend so we'll have to get creative since we can't leave the casa :)
What a fun park Max...You need to try out one of those skateboards :)
ReplyDeleteI am thinking not ever! ;)
DeleteLOVE the steps ... Yes, need to hydrate. Golden Woofs, Sugar
ReplyDeleteThe steps are nice, good exercise and pretty!
DeleteWhat a cool skate park, our human brother loved to skate when he was younger.
ReplyDeleteIt does make me wish I could skateboard but at this point would like to not break any bones ;)
DeleteAnother fun outing in beautiful weather, Max! One lucky dog you are!
ReplyDeleteToo bad it's getting soooo hot now!
DeleteThat is a very cool place!!! Well, not really since it was hot out, but you get what I am sayin'!
ReplyDeleteHa! Got it Finn and wow is it getting crazy hot!
DeleteThat looks like an amazing park, I almost expected to see you whizzing by on a skateboard! Your mom is great to take you out on fun walks and to be sure you keep cool too. Those look like a lot of stairs for your little legs, Max!
ReplyDeleteTrust me. Those little legs were ready to go but Ma had to be sure he got his water!!
DeleteMax your skateboarding park looks better than our one. We love seeing you with your little friend. Stay cool. Have a fabulous Friday.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
I love when Max makes new friendly buddies like that! So cute and an equally friendly pair of men.
DeleteMy Human Brudder would love that skate park, he's out boarding now :) Will show him your photo's when he gets home Max. Have a wonderful weekend xx00xx
ReplyDeleteMollie and Alfie
Wonder what he'll think of it?
DeleteWhat a cool little long lost buddy! :) Those skater guys are just totally fearless!
ReplyDeleteWags to all
Your pal Snoopy :)
Fearless or crazy!!
DeleteHouston sure does look like it has some fun places to visit and the fact it is clean and pretty is a bonus!
ReplyDeleteJust have to be willing to drive a lot ;)
DeleteHave you looked at the cool collars that are available for doggies - could help little Max with the heat.
ReplyDeleteYes buy the high humidity makes it rather ineffective unfortunately so we just have to be cautious in the next few months and do shorter but more frequent walks
DeleteHey Max, thanks for joining our Blog Hop! Looks like a fun adventure - I think you should have tried that skateboarding - you've got a good low center of gravity - that should help!
ReplyDeleteHa! Thanks for having k9 Kamp! We will just have to get more creative with the heat factor ;)
DeleteOh this rolling cutting boards are looking scary to me. Better I walk on my feet. Your new friend is absolutely cute - maybe he is related with Ernie, Franky or the three Doxies?
ReplyDeleteYa never know - sure was great how he broke away from his owners in the most friendly manner and was just flying to say hello to Max! His owners were about ready to call him back back but I waved that it was ok and Max was friendly too as they shouted that too ;)
DeleteI never know if those kids are very brave or totally insane! I would also love to paddle down the river in a canoe but would probably drown from panicing if I tipped over, ha!
ReplyDeleteLynne x
Me too! I sure wouldn't want to flip in that water!!
DeleteGreat photos! We lived in Houston for a short while and loved Memorial Park.. that was before the skateboard park, though.
ReplyDeleteYour pals,
Diane and Rocco
Where about did you live and how long ago?
Deletewhat fun!!!! I still wanna come and play with you! So...do tell! Do you drive a Honda too?
ReplyDeleteWell come on over! Yep, I have a stripped down version of a Civic, meaning A/c, Automatic tran., and radio - no Power locks etc but I love my civic!!!
DeleteHave a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI'd be scared to fall on that water or for any of that water to touch me too.
But the park looks very nice, nicer than any we have in here.
Yep that water is gross!!
DeleteHouston really looks like a great city! Shane about the heat!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't take Jimmy anywhere near a skateboard park. He goes absolutely batsh!t crazy over those. Skateboards trigger his herding instinct something fierce!
Wow you would think it might be scary but then again Max us typically scared if a lot but that didnt bother him either!
DeleteHave a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteYou too! Can't wait to learn your next adventure!!
DeleteLooks like a very fun park. Glad your mom took such good care of you to keep you nice and cool.
ReplyDeleteKelsey
Oh Ma is pretty paranoid about keeping me safe since I'm her favorite child! Ha ha ha!😄
DeleteMoms little car might have fit on that skateboardy thingy.
ReplyDeletestella rose
Ha! May I ask what you drive?
DeleteLooks like a fun park, Max did your Mum have a go on a skateboard BOL
ReplyDeleteSheba.
Ha, no I want to keep Ma in one piece! She can barely walk much less skateboard! Remember this is the woman missing 3 knuckles on her right hand due to falling over the throw rug in her room and having her fist bash into the metal bed frame full force!
DeleteOoo, running steps. That's hard work!
ReplyDeleteWhat are you going to do for Max's exercise when it gets too hot? We are lucky with Rita to be able to take her to the bay where she can keep cool. She hates super hot weather!
Not sure but probably have to do park walks once the sun goes down as before work is impossible since I have to be at work at 6:30...any ideas?
DeleteLooks like a fab place to go for a walk. I have said this before but orange looks marvellous on you- where did you get that harness?
ReplyDeleteDina Mom
Thanks it super comfy and from Wal-Mart
DeleteAdventure Max!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great spot to go for a walk! It's got so much ging on. I love it! I'm so glad you are joining us for kamp - it's going to be great!
ReplyDeleteNice skate park, but that canoe looks like it would be a fun way to spend the afternoon. Especially if it's really hot. Going down the river in a canoe or on inner tubes is pretty big around my neck of the woods in the summer.
ReplyDeleteThe skate park looks pretty cool. I don't do skateboarding either lol... Still looks like it would be fun to watch though.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great place! Max has a new friend. I love it when doggies get so excited to see each other -- their little tails are wagging 100 miles per hour. Precious! :-)

Park Avenue Chihuahua
That sure is a fancy skate board park. You have some great adventures Max!
