It's us again...but like we said, we did have one bummer side trip last Saturday...this is it...
|
Ok, Ma...Nap time, check...ready for more adventure, check...let's do this!!! |
|
Super cool suspension bridge that only I think 2-3 people are supposed to use at once! Where is it leading Max and I? To the Bayou Bend Garden and Collections...whoo hoo! |
|
Hey Ma...I'm...ah...ummm...not so sure about this bridge! |
|
View from the bridge...now Max was ok with the bridge :) |
|
But wait....do I have a doggy poop bag attached to my belt loop? Yes, but NO DOGS ALLOWED! Even in the Gardens! I didn't want to take him with me to tour the home...just the gardens but Nope! No dice! What a bummer!!! Well, that's ok...we'll save it for a "Human's only day"...Max was snickering though because guess what the REAL (seriously...real!) name of the home owner was? I don't care if she was born in 1927, what kind of crack must her parents have been smoking?!...her name was Ima Hogg!!! Ok, we can't be mad about the no dogs rule with a name like that!! :) Supposedly she was named after the heroine of a Civil War poem written by her Uncle, Thomas Elisha Hogg and word is she had a twin named Ura but that's not really true! :) I tried finding the poems to no avail. |
|
Wonder what else is around here? Well, dog-discrimination...we won't be finding out today :) ...poor Ima!! |
|
Gates we won't be entering today! See where else but here at Max's blog can you get a tour of nothing!?! |
|
Bye water and bridge! We aren't welcome here! Pft!! |
|
See this butt... Max...behave!!!! |
|
and THIS is what I think of their Dog HATER selves!! Oh, Max...you have to try to understand that not all dogs would be on their best behaviors...
Well, I just can't seriously get too mad Ma...I mean Ima Hogg is what you named your daughter?! I forgive them! :)
|
Have a beautiful today and be happy with the name your parents picked...it could always be worse!
Please be sure to head over to Mollie and Alfie's to get your raffle tickets for a great cause..Leo at Savannah's Pawtracks! Leo has been super sick and you can read all about what's been going on at either blog. Mollie is sooo awesome to have put this Raffle together!! Let's show them our support and love by donations, buying raffle tickets or donating toward the Raffle prizes or just sending pawsitive thoughts their way!
We agree - give them the butt !!! We don't frequent places that are not dog friendly!
ReplyDeleteIt's absurd right?!
DeleteSeriously you went over that treacherous bridge to just get to peek through the gate!
ReplyDeleteSweet William The Scot
Right?! It's unbelievable...don't they KNOW who I am???! Pft!
DeleteMax
too bad all of the fancy gardens here are no dogs too, like the botanical gardens. that name is something there was a doctor P. Enis no joke when I was in college (the P stood for Phillip but he just had P on the door of his office)
ReplyDeleteurban hounds
OMD! That is hysterical!!! Now why would he even put that on his door...unless he had a great and warped sense of humor about it! :) That's a really good one! Love it!
DeleteIt is unconscionable they don't allow dogs! Lately, my parents and I tend to bypass any restrictions of sorts by bringing my pet carrier. If necessary, I can always burrow in there so the family can keep a low profile. (I keep a down low profile as a baseline.)
ReplyDeleteHa, my son suggested Max's stroller but now we don't wanna give them our $5, let them eat cake right?!
DeleteThat IS a bummer! There are a lot of places in England that dogs can't even go around the gardens too. They obviously see all dog owners as irresponsible. Max is much braver than I am when it comes to that bridge.
ReplyDeleteLynne x
Max was funny and very unsure of it at first but them he saw he could look over the edge and that was super fun! I could tell the lady there would have really loved to have been able to make an exception but....
DeleteCareful on that bridge! I'm not too sure either.
ReplyDeleteNah, it was ok Bunk...plus I'm fearless ya know!
Delete(Thunder Kitty is rolling her eyes!)
Hi Max! Too bad they wouldn't let you in there to explore the grounds - looks like lots of great bushes to sniff and plants to dig up (oops.....I didn't mean that) - but at least you got to walk on that bridge and see the water! Loved the photos....
ReplyDeleteKitty Hugs, Sammy
Sammy, I just don't know what's up with these humans?! They probably discriminate against Kittys too!
DeleteHey Max what a bummer you couldn't go in. Trust me it is like that everywhere here. We should call us No Dog City. At least most of your adventures have been successful. Have a super Saturday.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
Well I am really thinking of writing to the head honcho over there..what happened to that whole equal rights movement huh? What...it's not about pups??! Ma...say it isn't so!!
DeleteI can't imagine taking Joey on that bridge. LOL It would be scary with him. Sorry you couldn't tour the whole place.
ReplyDeleteNo, Max is scared of lizards and bugs and was a little iffy at first but he saw the sides and said let's do this!
DeleteHi Max - I'm Stewey, and I just found your blog! You sure went on a cool bridge! Sorry about the "No Dogs Allowed" rule. What kind of rule is that anyway?!?
ReplyDeleteStewey
Stewey, thanks for coming over! That's great to have a new friend! Well, that is obviously a human that came up with that ludacris rule! The nerve! Pft!
DeleteHi Max - what a bummer that they wouldn't let dogs in :(
ReplyDeleteWhat's up with that?!?!?
Stewey
Just another dog discriminator...fine, then THEY aren't allowed in MY backyard!!! I'll show them!
DeleteBummer that you couldn't get in, Max. Your awesome facial expressions truly showed what you thought about that. You certainly were brave going over that bridge.
ReplyDeleteKelsey
Now, I bet they'd make an exception for a lady-pup as beautiful as you Kelsey!!
DeleteWell, who want's to visit a place that belonged to Ima Hogg :D Good golly, what that poor child must have gone through in life. Yip, I'll definitely be thanking my parents for being realistic when naming me.
ReplyDeleteWhat mean parents - what on earth were they possibly thinking?!!! I don't care about the poem...jeez!
DeleteWe would just turn our nose up, turn around , stick our tails in the air and leave, after the snobs, what up with no dogs
ReplyDeleteThe Mad Scots
Exactly Susie and Sidebite, I showed them with my eye rolls!
DeleteHi, Max!
ReplyDeleteThank you SO much for visiting my blog!
You are super cute and you are my first chihuahua friend!
I am looking forward to reading about your adventures!
You are quite brave to go over that bridge. I am quite wimpy! Lol!
Have a wonderful weekend!
Cadwaladr
Oh, we loved visiting your blog! Yea...hear that Ma...I'm a FIRST!!! I love being FIRST, see I don't need that place...I feel the love here! Thanks!
DeleteGreat "almost" tour, Max. I'm surprised they didn't make an exception for you. They must not have been very smart. You got some great pictures, and I know your mom will have fun when she goes back.
ReplyDeleteMa says they were probably just jealous of my good looks and didn't want the garden viewers humans distracted by my handsomeness...I tend to agree with Ma!
DeleteToo bad they dont let dogs in. And their names arent very nice.
ReplyDeleteWe kinda can't be too mad at them...a name like that..you gotta forgive a lot!
DeleteI'M-A-HOG?! Bahahaha!!!! Oh my dog, that is the funniest human name that I've ever heard about :-P Poor lady! ;-) Sorry about the "no dogs" thing...but, with that name, who would be surprised that she had a stick up her you know what! ;-)
ReplyDeleteOMD! Goose you made Ma almost pee laughing!
DeleteMax, I am impressed! My sister and I would not have walked over that bridge...I would bet a dog treat on that! You are one brave little fellow. I would have enjoyed somehow getting a dip in that dirty looking brown water ;)
ReplyDeleteNah Emma, I don't think you or Katie would want to ever go in that water! It's pretty yucky!
DeleteWe are so behind Max.. Thank you for the splash about the tickets and what a wonderful xx00xxx
ReplyDeleteMollie and Alfie
Thank YOU for being so kind as to do all that you are doing to help a fellow blogger! You are a wonderful person!
DeleteI would never walk over this bridge - not for treats and lobsters. What a brave pup you are :o)... and for all this you got a " no dogs allowed"? how mean... you should pee from this bridge :o)
ReplyDeleteHa! Easy I can't imagine YOU being scared of anything! Darn it...why didn't I think of that! I could have really given them a good peeing too!
DeleteYou are very brave to walk over that bridge. Too bad they didn't tell you about no doggies being allowed in the garden before you walked over it.
ReplyDeleteMa says it's their loss! At least they were able to see me on the bridge...probably thought I'd distract the other visitors with my good looks Ma says!
DeleteWow you do have the best walks!
ReplyDeleteExcept Ma tires me out! By the end of the day I am wiped out! Ma needs to hire a human to carry me around....all this walking?! Maybe they make a Rolls for pups....hey ma....
DeleteThat top picture is soo cute! Just like my Chi, Kate. She makes the same cute face but I've never been lucky enough to catch it despite trying! My photo skills just not up to parr!
ReplyDeleteI thought they could be sibling too!
