Gosh, I really need to clean my car windshield! :) |
Max was ready to walk the plank! |
Only the first portion of the trail was wooden plank, the rest was dirt with some gravel. |
This reminded me of something like The Secret Garden, (which I always hoped to discover as a kid). |
We heard some movement so Max the Investigator had to try to find it! No luck. |
Opps...took a wrong turn...no pups allowed on this part of the trails... |
Max was ready to get into the a/c and so was I at this point! :) |
Max we love your parks they are so pretty. Ours is OK but it is mainly only grass and small woods and some ponds. Trouble is we have several busy roads that go through it. Mind you shouldn't complain as it is on the top of our road so it takes us under a minute to get there. Hope you had a great snooze when you got back. Have a super Saturday.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
Well, at least it's close though :), I generally have to drive a decent amount of time to get anywhere here but luckily I don't mind driving much and like to go "exploring" a lot! Just wish I had more money and time to do more! :) This place is about 30 minutes without traffic so it wasn't too bad to get to.
Deletehow cool that you bring Max there we have botanical gardens in NYC but no dogs allowed. Thanks for your comment on my fashion sense. I used to hate taking pictures of myself but now I am more comfortable with it. I love clothes so I like to take pictures of my clothing, plus I like to give credit to the people I got them from since I get a lot of stuff from Etsy sellers. So you know though I wear pajamas about 50% of the time and not very nice ones either!

Well, only half of the arboretum is dog friendly the other part is humans only although I don't get why as long as you pick up after your pup which you should do in either area.
DeleteYes, I love when you post photos of you to see what you'll be wearing! You have such super cool clothes! I'll pretty much wear anything I can dig up for work as long as it's "professional" enough looking but I'm really a jeans type of girl.
We visited there in January/February. We loved all the trails. They are very nice!
ReplyDeleteMUCH better time to have visited! It's almost too hot now to go!
DeleteYou have lots of great places to walk in your area!
ReplyDeleteI loved the Secret Garden as a child. Still have a copy tucked away somewhere.
We have to drive to get anywhere but I hate to be in the house so that's fine with me! Thanks sooo much for telling me the possum story! Wow! I still can't believe it!!
DeleteThat is a beautiful place and how awesome that there are trails for doggies there too!
ReplyDeleteI wish more places would allow pups! I hear in France you can take your pup almost everywhere!
DeleteYou know you have made you pupster super happy when he is so tired he sleeps (and snores) all the way home. That looks like a beautiful place to walk. We have seen Houston on HGTV's House Hunters a few times and thought what a pretty place it was.
ReplyDeleteHa, he's snoozing again as we speak...just drug poor Max all around Houston again today :)
DeleteIf I ever go to America for a holiday I would love to go to some of those places you have photographed. This one looks gorgeous too, looks like you tired the little man out :)
ReplyDeleteLynne x
You just give me a little notice and I'll be your Houston tour guide! :) Yep, that was one beat pup!
DeleteMax must be complaining of the heat but must have also appreciated the scenery while walking in the park. :)
ReplyDeleteThe heat isn't even bad yet! Today we sure felt it though!! I always carry a fold up water dish and water too just to be sure Max stays hydrated but soon I won't even take him outside other than potty time cuz it will just be too hot!
DeleteYou must be one tuckered out little pup!
ReplyDeleteYep, and today we were at it again! Generally speaking, Saturday is my only day off so we cram a lifetime into one big day!
DeleteYou must be one tuckered out little pup!
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a pretty place. I am sure the ac helped to revive Max. :)
ReplyDeleteOh, you know Max...once we got into the a/c then he needed covers so he wouldn't shiver! That Max is one high maintenance little dude but worth every bit of it!!
DeleteCan't get over all the great parks you have that you can take the dog to. Lucky!
ReplyDeleteI always wanted to find my own "Secret Garden" too as a kid! Loved that book.
Isn't that just such a magical book?! I've always loved to read, even as a kid my parents would preview adult books to be sure I was allowed to read it.
DeleteA tired dog is a good dog!
ReplyDeleteTrue..just snoozing away!
DeleteLooks very pretty. Funny how us pups are not allowed in all parts of so many places. Sad really.
ReplyDeleteYes, I guess cuz of jerks that don't pick up after their pups but gosh, there are soooo many places I wish I could take Max and I'm sure he'd enjoy them! URRR!
DeleteI think I need to move to texas :)
ReplyDeleteHa, come on over! Just do yourself a favor and avoid it like the plaque in summer! :) Today it started to get pretty hot, because the humidity is outrageous here so it makes it worse! Soon Max will only be going out for potty time and in the evening when it's cooler.
DeleteMax- your such a beautious little doggy. And your park is magnificent.
ReplyDeleteWe love the pond with the water lilys. You are right- it looks like a secret garden,
Thank you for the tour.
