Pretty sure Max wouldn't be too happy to share our home with this guy...sorry pal, gotta stay outside :) |
This place has been here forever and sell all sorts of stuff! |
It really is an old fashion Feed Store just outside of downtown Houston! |
Look to the left, top shelf and you'll even see "day of the dead" statues |
More stuff....I don't really know a lot about the Day of The Dead Celebration though. |
Rooster or Hen? |
My son now wants a duck! Not today dude! |
Max sorta wants a duck buddy too! He really liked him and the duck wanted to be buddies too! Say bye to the ducky Son and Max! Have a beautiful today full of fun adventure! |
Oh my gosh that has to be the coolest store ever, I used to love to go to the feed store as a kid needless to say there are none in the NYC area. The duck, and toad, are so cute

It's been there a long time and is really out of place but well loved by all! My son still keeps yapping about getting a duck too and keeps researching their care ;)
DeleteAwww...the ducky is too adorable no wonder Maxie and your son want one. Are you sure you couldn't give in? I love the cowboy hats in the store!
ReplyDeleteWell, my son keeps begging me but I haven't cracked yet ;)
DeleteWe love these old fashioned stores. We only get them now in rural areas. Mum we think you are doing fine with the camera. We never really got to grip with ours apart from point and shoot. Have a wonderful Wednesday.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
PS anything my peeps would try and make would look like something straight out of the day of the dead. LOL!
Ha ha ha! Telling you I could get a best fail award ;)
DeleteGreat pictures and cool place!
ReplyDeleteIt's funny to me how many native Houstonians don't know about this little gem ;)
DeleteI love frog/toad photography. What a cool store. I know I would find many treasures in there.
ReplyDeleteIt is really fun to see what they have!
DeleteWhat a fun store!! Teach keeps asking for a pet duck ... We're still a hold out though and not adding a duck to our little family.
ReplyDeleteAw, I bet Teach would be a great ducky buddy!
ReplyDeleteI think that is more of a croak croak from a toad :) Love love love those kind of old stores - there is always so many interesting things to look at in them
ReplyDeleteOMPUG my mom would love to go to that store and shop a little, she noticed those cobalt blue vases on one of the shelves right off the bat! Cool store!

That looks like a great store.....AND I'm positive I'd like a duck buddy (tee hee).....and I already HAVE a frog buddy (although he hasn't shown up in my yard this year yet....).

Your photography is definitely getting better. Now we want a pet duck too. Well, once, I found a Canadian gosling that was rejected by its family and it was about to die, so I took it home and nursed it back to health. My sister swears that she took Rover (our gosling) out for a stroll when another family of Canadian geese adopted him. Let's hope it's true!
ReplyDeleteyou do the most FUN things! I wanna come and hang out with you one day!
ReplyDeleteIt sure is interesting when the humans are testing out the camera, you never know what they'll come across and it also means they may take pics of something other than us?! :)
ReplyDeleteWags to all,
Your pal Snoopy :)
I love those kinds of stores. Such a neat mix of stuff!
ReplyDeleteThat little duck is so cute - couldn't you just make a pond in your garden for him and maybe a few more and perhaps a couple of swans and....
ReplyDeleteLynne x
Oh that duck is so cute!! No doubt Sherm would try to eat it though, so we'll stay clear. :)
ReplyDeleteaw! Now I want a duck buddy too! Cool store!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a wonderful place to go and get lost in just spending time looking. Hey Max, we will trade you a rabbit for a duckie!
ReplyDeleteThe Mad Scots
we want a duck friend too...or a toad! Your Mom sure is getting handy with that camera Max!
ReplyDeleteSlobbers
I always wanted a duck, never got to have one.
ReplyDeleteNow I want cows and sheep, and a farm, I may be able to get one someday.
That looks like a very fun and interesting store to visit. That duck sure was cute too.
ReplyDeleteKelsey
That store looks like a ton of fun! My mom loves places like that!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos i love the store i prefer old over modern, do a compromise with your son and say he can have a rubber duck for the bath and a squeeky one for Max lol.
ReplyDeleteSheba.
Hehehe, a ducky?! What an excellent pet for Max and your son!! ;-D Quack Quack! I like chickens and ducks...they are very fun to watch! Happy Wednesday guys!
ReplyDeleteOMD, has Flea been by? I'm sure she'd be pro-duck! Looks like a very interesting place to explore!
ReplyDeleteI'd rather have the duck in the house than the frog any day!
You don't look too sure about that duck Max and I don't blame you. I wouldn't trust a duck, they used to try and come and land on the pool in our last house and it was my job along with Zac to chase them off. The annoying things would swim to the middle of the pool - they knew we didn't like water and wouldn't go in after them - they are crafty!
ReplyDeleteWe just saw a toad last night in the yard. His photo looks great! I'd have to say that's a hen.
ReplyDeleteThe second-hand shop is a great place to kill time. I'm sure there will be many things one can find which you'd probably consider as treasure :)
ReplyDeleteoh what a great store! i would love to visit there.
ReplyDeleteducky has an adorable little face. too bad they can't stay cute little duckies forever. i love the pic of max checking him out!
wags.
