2013 Pet Expo in Houston, Texas

Yesterday was a strange day to say the least! My dear, dear friend for 20+ years tragically lost her youngest daughter, a beautiful 20 year old baby, in a car wreck last Sunday...I had always called her "my girl" and while I'll miss her like crazy, seeing my friend and her other 3 kids in so much pain was the worst ever! No parent should have to go through that!! Her funeral was yesterday morning.  It really made me want to spend time with my kids even more if that's even possible. The main focus on the funeral was to give flowers and live in the moment before it's too late.  So I decided we'd do just that with one of the newest of Angels in tow.

We went straight to the 2013 Houston Pet Expo, I had really wanted to meet Beth from Lizzy's Life...We're Just Hanging Out In It as I knew Husky Haven was going to be there, but she was off mingling elsewhere when my daughter and I visited their booth...bummer!

Then it was off to eat Mexican food...yummy Quesadilla's with the kids :)

Here's some of what the 2013 Pet Expo had to offer..

Have a beautiful day with the ones you love!

  3. What a gorgeous variety of dogs (and hedgehog). In England, hedgehogs are wild animals and never kept as pets. We sometimes get one in our garden, he is very helpful at eating the snails.
We are almost up to your mini-me Max!

    1. That's the first time I ever saw a hedgehog in person! I never thought of them as pets either and surely wasn't expecting that prickly feeling they have!Yea, excited to get my Mini-Max whenever you can :)

Yes, can't go wrong seeing pups...except I am still not so sure about that poor rainbow colored poodle but they say that all that dye is non-toxic,etc.

  10. Such tragic news about your friend's daughter. Horrible.

None of us are guaranteed tomorrow so we all have to make the most of today. I'm glad you were able to get out and enjoy the animals - they have such healing spirits! - at the expo. (Thank you for the ferret picture.) :)

  11. Sorry about the loss of your friend's daughter, one never knows when our time is up. The pet expo looks great. The Twin Cities has one and we were all set to go until we found out that you could not bring your pets...hello...a pet expo! Ridiculous!

    1. Appreciate you words Emma. What? No pets at the PET Expo? I think Emma should be the voice of reason with them!! That's nuts!

  12. Another fun-filled day with your pets! It must be a delight to see numerous dogs in one day! What animal is the fourth photo from the last?

    ReplyDelete

    1. Hey! That 4th animal is a Hedgehog! I hadn't seen one either in "real life" and it feels like thick bristles on a broom or something. Didn't know anyone kept them as pets either!

    1. Thanks Gizmo, and No, see my reply to 2 Brown Dawgs, they say all that dye is non toxic and all but wow, I'm not so sure about all that stuff but then I am really NOT educated about any of that, so I don't feel I can say much - just thought I'd see what anyone else thought about it. Gosh, I feel guilty like when I bought Max that Astro's Baseball hat and made him wear it for a few quick pix and then gave it away! Yes, I DO dress Max up but only because he gets shivers even indoors when the A/C is on but not outside when it's hot and never uncomfortable clothes and like that hat, if he doesn't like it...I give it away.
