George Bush Hike and Bike Trails

Continuing on the weekend before lasts journey.....Friday-Sunday I'm taking care of Dad so my sis can get the heck outta dodge and go enjoy a river house with all of her family.
This is over at the George Bush Hike and Bike Trails which to be honest, I never knew even existed until recently and it's pretty nice!
  • This is actually part of the damn area around the park to help prevent flooding.

Up and over the hill are the trails and the wetland area

By the time I got back over the hill I was about ready to get in water like this guy...just not this water :)

Glad I decided to leave Max at home because it was really too hot for me and I over did it and was wiped out from the heat!

Ok, Ann, you know you are my go-to girl! What is this?!

Not a lake but a wetland area

Keepin' ya busy today Ann! All I know is I like the purple color :)...oh, and that movie "The Color Purple" too :)

Not too sure how far the trails go because it was way too hot to check out much but looks like a winter exploration project :)

It felt a whole lot cooler here by the water and there were lots of birds chirping away!

Gosh, I really don't know much...no idea what the flowers are nor the bird!

Meanwhile, back at the hacienda....there sits Stanley (my, "not my cat", cat that has adopted us I guess at least sometimes and who I nicknamed as Stanley now), awaiting his dinner while lounging in HIS chair.

Max was busy asking Thunder Kitty if he could have this dance once we got home :) . He was inside and dying to go outside when I got home and didn't have to potty or anything...think he just wanted to see his Thunder Kitty :)

Have a beautiful today and stay cool!

  1. I did not see George Bush himself on the trails...did I miss him? Mom has a photo of her and George on a 747 going to Beijing from years ago when she was a flight attendant. Regardless of which side of politics anyone is on as we stay out of that mess, he was a very nice man and took time to pose with any crew members that wanted a photo with him.

    1. How cool is that? You're right, regardless of views, he does appear to be a nice man. I'd LOVE to see that photo!

I am with Emma, I missed GW on the trail! :) What a cool place, you have a ton of wonderful parks nearby. You are lucky to get to visit them all.

Oh could it be a crane? It's great to have a "not my cat" cat - dad said he will have a "not my wife" wife too (mom wasn't amused). That's a very nice place there it looks quiet and peaceful to me. Have a great weekend!

    1. Ha, I should have had a few "not my husband" husbands too :) I was thinking maybe a crane too but didn't think they'd live out her away from the ocean but I know so little about birds, etc. Yes, I can't wait to explore it more once it gets cooler outside!

  5. We've got some open areas like that around here and while they're nice to explore they're definitely "winter Only"...too hot to be out without shade otherwise...that white bird is a white heron aka egret, but can't tell exactly which kind from the picture but I can't help with the flowers

  7. LOL we just saw Emmas' comment re GB. There is so many places round your way we are so surprised. Sorry that it is too hot for Max. It has been cold here but hey at least we don't have to worry about getting overheated. Have a super Saturday.
    Best wishes Molly

  8. PS don't worry with a reply as we never get to see them unless we go back to old posts. We did the same for ages until we found that no one came back and we stopped and it made no difference bar our time. I think it is more a wordpress thing.

  9. Your walks are so wonderful, I think the bird is a heron - it looks like one anyway. Thanks for your nice compliments about my painting.
That is so sweet that Max gets on with Stanley so well.
