I love this quote by one of my favorite authors, Jonathan Carroll..."Dogs are minor angels, and I don't mean that facetiously. They love unconditionally, forgive immediately, are the truest of friends, willing to do anything that makes us happy, etcetera. If we attributed some of those qualities to a person we would say they are special. If they had ALL of them, we would call them angelic. But because it's "only" a dog we dismiss them as sweet or funny but little more. However when you think about it, what are the things that we most like in another human being? Many times those qualities are seen in our dogs every single day--we're just so used to them that we pay no attention." - Jonathan Carroll

Jonathan Carroll is one of my very favorite authors...but you'll always have a tough time finding where his books will be as he is really in a genre all by himself...mystery, sci-fi, horror, fantasy...none are a correct category! But one thing is for sure, he is definitely a dog lover!!! Reading The Land of Laughs is a definite must!

You know I was thinking when I posted the quote, how it totally doesn't really apply to us guys since we even blog about our babies but I still love it so much I wanted to share it :)I think we all wish people would care more about their pups :)
DeleteWhat a beautiful quote!! :-D Seems like an incredibly intelligent human, if you ask me. ;-) Max, you are looking like you are totally enjoying your walk! Happy Wednesday!
ReplyDeleteAnd we didn't even have to give him a bone to say nice things about us guys either! We think he's a pretty decent human too! Yep, I love walking with my big Sis...she likes to get me all wild and running too! She's super cool!
DeleteGreat quote! I'm not familiar with that author. Thanks for sharing about him.
ReplyDeleteHe's a keeper for sure! But I'm still quietly hoping for a book 2 about Maggie :(...I really need to know what happens to her next! Want me to sit pretty?! :)
DeleteThanks for stopping by my blog Max. I see a lot of my friends leave you comments. I love to read, yes I do, I am a reader dog. I help little kids learn to read. One of your favorite authors, Jonathan Carroll has made a very true statement. We dogs are the best. Those laps are tough ~ keep trucking.
ReplyDeleteI only post on Monday and I hope you come back to my blog.
