Happy Monday! Let's Get this Party Started!

I took a day off work on Friday and spent Friday-Sunday taking care of my Dad so my sister could get a little break and spend a nice weekend with her family at the Guadalupe River. It was nice spending the time with Dad and cooking him breakfast followed by the requested ice cream. Hey at 83 and with all his ailments, if he want ice cream after breakfast, that's fine with me! That said, I never left the house so here's what photo's I mustered up :)
A friendly little visitor to my sister's backyard

A very proud little Max after FLYING down my sisters stairs - that was lots of fun apparently to run up and down the stairs!

Bella could care less about Max!

This guy tried to be a bully but was quite unsuccessful

Who you talking to?!

My sister must have just gotten this sign as it wasn't hung up yet - love it!

Would love to be able to talk to Max and ask him what he's thinking about sometimes!!

Who me? I didn't just mess up that blanket you just folded...I simply folded it BETTER!

Have a beautiful today and appreciate those priceless stories from your elders - lots of special gifts there!
P.S. Molly brought up an interesting thing that I've been thinking about...when I reply to your posts here on Max's blog, do you honestly go back and read them or would it just be better to reply back to you when I comment on your blog to make it easier? I'm thinking maybe the latter is the way to go as the only time I ever get notification when I get a comment on someone else's blog is on Roxy and Torrey's blog I get an email which is cool but I'm just not that savvy and thought maybe it would be better to reply back to any of your comments on your blog - make sense? Thoughts?

  1. Love those " in the moment" max photos. I often wonder what the boys are thinking they seem so intent on something.

I must admit I rarely go back a second time to read comments left on comments....majority of people ...me included...don't do it...I usually go back to the persons blog if I need to respond to something.

  2. You can reply when you comment on my blog, that's fine with me. Nice you got to spend time with your dad and we let Gramma do so wild things too...we figure she has earned that right! I bet Max burned up the calories doing the stairs. If he doesn't have them at home it might be exciting.

  3. So glad you had a great time with dad and at 83 yes ice cream after breakfast is well deserved. Max you do look deep in thought. When we first started it took us forever to reply until we realised no one was reading them. Hopefully it will free up sometime for you. We hope we didn't offend by saying we don't go back to read comments we just didn't want you to spend time unnecessarily. Have a marvellous Monday.
    Best wishes Molly

  4. Good gracious I had never thought about it when I replied to comments on my blog, that people wouldn't ever see the comments. I sometimes do go back and check to see if there was a reply but not always. It's interesting because now I don't know what the right thing to do is!
I think it is great that you spent the day with your dad so your sister could get out and have family time. You might be surprised how rarely people think to do that for caregivers. Surely your dad loved it too :)

  5. Yes, if you could reply back on my blog that would be great. We understand about spending time with our parents......
Maxx you looked like you were being such a good boy for mom. We often help with the laundry, we are very unappreciated.

  6. I often look at our dogs and imagine what they would say if they could talk. Do you think humanity would be kinder to animals if they could verbalise their likes and fears in our language? I would like to believe we would.

  7. your photos are just fabulous!!! I comment back when people leave a comment as much as I can, (but I do NOT always comment back), depends on how busy I am. If we want a response when we leave you a comment we can click on "subscribe by email" directly below where I am leaving a comment now, and if you reply, we will see it WITHOUT having to return to your blog :)

I love when you comment on my blog anyway, so a reply there would be great. You get an email from me with a reply because I have CommentLuv.
    Love the bossy bird too!

  11. You are so right about the stories from your elders....I can remember cleaning out my dad's house and coming across lots of old photos of him from his 20's. I would loved to have asked all sorts of questions, but alas, it was too late.

I think replying back to an actual question is probably best on the asker's blog, but just a general comment back could stay on your own blog. I also get used to seeing who tends to respond to comments and who doesn't so I know if I should check back....

I love you had me at Woof! BOL! I used to never go back and read responses because I didn't know I was being responded to, but wordpress lets you know if you have responses. I say keep it on your page. Have a great Monday!

What fantastic photographs and I just love that sign! Think I'll have to get one made up for myself. As far as comments are concerned, wordpress works differently and you can see the replies instantly. Not sure about here.

83 ice creams? For every stomach or for all together? For the comments, that's really interesting, I always answer to comments and if I have the time I go back and read the answers to my comments.

  15. You just made my mouth water for ice cream! Of course you folded it better Max! Everybody knows thumbless folding is better!

  16. Thanks everyone for letting me know what ya think!! I really appreciate it a lot! I think I'm gonna lean in the middle and leave a "global comment" at the end of the day and comment back on ya'll blogs if there was a question asked, etc. etc. and see how that goes :) Molly, you would never offend me - you're way too kind natured :) - no, I thought it brought up a great point and I appreciate any feedback, ideas, etc. anytime then I can decide if the idea works for me etc. and this sounded like a great question! Thanks!

I'm glad you came up with a decision before I left my comment, now I don't have to puzzle about it!
Max - those eyes - full of wisdom :-)

  18. Gosh you sure got some pretty pictures. Like that your Dad had ice cream after breakfast. :) Sometimes I got back to look for replies, but it depends on how much time I have (or don't have).

  19. Mommy is far from 83 butt she is the kind of person who could eat ice cream for breakfast too. Glad u got to spend the weekend with your dad.

  20. Yes, when I am 83 I shall eat ice cream after breakfast! And breakfast will be waffles with lots of syrup!

    Great pics of Max.

And, hmmm. You bring up a good point about the replies. I try to reply to all the comments on my blog, but I suppose most folks don't see that. Are we wasting our time?? I guess if folks ask a serious question, I'll answer it there and also back on their blog. As for me, I do sometimes go back and look for replies - but not always. Depends on what I wrote... I wish Blogger had a better system for seeing replies - like on Roxy's blog.

  21. I love the side shot of Max, and get the same thought when my furry kids stare at nothing. And agree that your dad can have any flavor of ice cream anytime he wants it!

Bella looks a lot like one of my cats. Just thought I'd throw that in. BOL.

Those pictures of the birds are so sharp. I have a bossy bluejay that likes to chew out the dogs when they're outside in their pen.

Wanted to comment on the beautiful flowers from yesterday, but my Internet went down on me before I could say anything. So, just made this comment a dual one. lol
